Our proposal for 12 Yarm Lane in Great Ayton, North Yorkshire, focuses on the refurbishment of a historic farmhouse and cottage and the construction of a contemporary single-storey rear extension. The design features a traditional form with an asymmetric pitched roof and glazed roof link to enhance natural light. Clad in corrugated metal, the extension reflects the building’s agricultural heritage while providing a modern, functional living space. This project retains the site’s residential use and delivers a significantly improved internal layout.
